All CS Health offices remain open to perform Order 43 medicals.
Changes to spirometry and respirator fit testing
The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) has advised that medical providers in areas affected by government orders which limit movement should only perform spirometry and other lung function testing where deemed clinically essential.
Spirometry and Respirator Fit Testing for Order 43 medical assessments are not deemed to be clinically essential in the short term. This testing is aimed at preventing and detecting occupational exposure related diseases over time.
Effective from Monday, 16 August 2021, CS Health offices and Order 43 External providers in areas currently affected by movement restrictions, will cease to perform spirometry and respirator fit testing services.
CS Health offices impacted are:
Order 43 services provided without the required spirometry and respirator fit testing will be marked as Amber on applicable certificates. Periodic medicals will be marked with an early review. All certificates must have the following comment – Requires spirometry and fit testing for Order 43 compliance, testing not completed due to Covid 19 restrictions. All medicals will marked for a review within 12 months of date of medical.
CS Health will work with employers to ensure that suspended testing services are completed within the twelve months.
Chest x-rays will continue as normal.
CS Health gymnasiums
CS Health gymnasiums remain open only for our treatment and rehabilitation clients. They remain closed to the general public, including retired mine workers.
