First aid and emergency preparedness skills help save lives.

Realistic scenarios delivered by experienced emergency responders

Our First aid training programs have been developed by emergency response professionals with:

  • national qualifications in training and assessment
  • long-term practical experience in underground and surface operations and management
  • skills in emergency preparedness and mines rescue.

Mines Rescue trainers and assessors are also technical professionals, who boast extensive experience in emergency response and rescue, as well as first-hand experience in underground and surface mining. Their specialised skills are called upon by the international mines rescue community to assist with incidents.

As a Registered Training Organisation, Mines Rescue has a range of qualifications that the organisation has been approved to deliver. We are able to provide a variety of training courses that vary from full qualifications through to standalone units.

Additionally, we offer a range of non-accredited courses that do not result in nationally recognised training outcomes, but meet industry training needs. Participants in these courses receive a Statement of Attendance itemising the training undertaken.

Before enrolling in a course, consider if the course is right for you and your needs by reading the Course Overview and speaking with a staff member.

You should also be aware that some courses have pre-requisite entry requirements, such as units of competency or another course that must be successfully completed first. You may need to meet certain health and fitness requirements to be able to safely participate in the training.
