Introduction
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to take roadway dust samples at a mine, and to check the level of incombustible material within those samples.

Course delivery
This course is delivered through classroom-based training and exercises, along with a three hour underground practical component at an underground coal mine.

- There are no formal prerequisites for this course.
- Mines Rescue recommends you be aware of the policies and procedures of your workplace before starting the course.

What you need to bring:
- Fully enclosed footwear
- Underground attire including PPE i.e. belt, hard hat, high visibility workwear, boots, glasses, ear plugs/muffs and a dust mask

Students Under 18
Mines Rescue minimum age for enrolment is 15 years.
If you are under 18 years of age we will require your parent or guardian to sign your Student Enrolment Form. Please
contact a Mines Rescue Station directly to enquire or enrol into your course.
Visa Holders
Mines Rescue is not CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registered. If you are visiting Australia and hold a visa, please contact Mines Rescue directly prior to enrolling into any of our courses.
