Introduction
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to establish and maintain mine emergency preparedness and response systems in Surface Coal and Surface/Underground Metalliferous mining.

This course is recommended for mining officials, senior managers and others who may have a role in emergency management of their mine.

Credential issued
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following units:
- RIIERR601E Establish and maintain mine emergency preparedness and response systems
This unit contributes to the completion of the RII60720 Advanced Diploma of Surface Coal Mining Management or the RII60120 Advanced Diploma of Metalliferous Mining.
RIIERR601E is a requirement for mining engineering managers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and quarry managers.
Course delivery
This course is delivered through classroom-based training, desktop scenarios and practical exercises.
Assessment includes written, oral and practical tests.

Two days
Entry requirements
- There are no formal pre-requisites for this course.
- It is expected that you have experience working in a mining environment.
- This course is based on an Advanced Diploma qualification. You should have appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to manage course work, activities and assessments.
