Coal Services' Occupational Hygiene & Lab services provide a range of gas-related occupational hygiene services that help protect workers against harmful exposure to the hazards inherent in mining and other industries.
Coal Services’ Hygiene & Lab Services is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) to perform analysis of mine gas, diesel particulate matter, coal dust and quartz samples. This critical service assists to keep mine environments at safe levels of airborne contaminants.

Occupational Hygiene & Lab Services
We are an internationally recognised leader in the provision of occupational hygiene services to industry.
An initiative of the Joint Coal Board and continued by Coal Services by its role in the area of airborne dust was the issue of Order 40 on 5 July 1990.
Order 42 gives powers to Coal Services inspectors to enter coal mine operations for the purposes of monitoring airborne dust, collecting dust samples and other functions and activities necessary to monitor airborne dust.
Standing Dust Committee
Over the years, the Standing Dust Committee has initiated a number of innovative and important changes in dust control techniques within the industry and produced publications which have been widely circulated.
