NSW workers compensation legislative amendment

The Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Act 2025 (NSW) (the Act) was assented to on Monday, 24 November 2025.

The Act introduces reforms to the NSW workers compensation scheme, including how psychological injury claims are defined and managed.

Details such as when the legislation will take effect, and any new rules to support the legislation, are yet to be confirmed by the Government.

We are currently reviewing the amended legislation and awaiting a detailed briefing from our legal advisors to understand any changes and implications for Coal Services and Coal Mines Insurance. We will share more information once we understand what this means for our customers and other stakeholders.
