Introduction
This course refreshes your skills and knowledge of working in confined spaces, work permits, standby requirements and confined space rescue.
Please note this is a refresher only, no statement of attainment or units of competency are issued.
Who should attend?
Individuals who have previously completed confined space training and require a refresher to maintain their knowledge.

Credential issued
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attendance for the following:
- Confined spaces Code of Practice (NSW)
- Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW)
- Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 (NSW)
- AS2865:2009 Confined spaces
- Risk management
- Atmospheric hazards
- Hazardous substances/energies
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Initial response first aid and rescue
- Confined space entry permits
- Emergency response planning
Course delivery
This course is delivered through classroom-based training, desktop scenarios and practical exercises.
Assessment includes written, oral and practical tests.

One day
Entry requirements
- Whilst there are no formal prerequisites for this course, Mines Rescue highly recommends you have completed confined space training within the past three years.
- You must be able to wear a harness for a vertical confined space entry.
- This course is based on a Certificate III level qualification. You should have appropriate literacy and numeracy skills to manage course work, activities and assessments.
- Mines Rescue recommends you be aware of the policies and procedures of your workplace before starting the course.

Refresher:
Mines Rescue recommends students complete refresher training every two years.

Students Under 18
Mines Rescue minimum age for enrolment is 15 years.
If you are between the ages of 15 and 18, we require your parent or guardian to sign your Student Enrolment Form. Please contact a Mines Rescue Station directly to enquire or enrol into your course.
Visa Holders
Mines Rescue is not CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registered. If you are visiting Australia and hold a visa, please contact Mines Rescue directly prior to enrolling into any of our courses.
