2020 Grant Process Suspended

As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic the Coal Services Health & Safety Trust have made the difficult decision to suspend the grant application process for this year.

The decision to suspend the grants for 2020 was not considered lightly. The Trustees took into account the general disruptions to business and uncertainty over the coming months.

We note that this does not affect any previous grants and ongoing projects that the Trust has committed to in 2019 or prior years.

We hope that by the end of this year the effects of COVID-19 will be normalised in order for the Trust to invite applications for the 2021 grant process, which are normally released in March of each year.

The Trust wants to fund research that has the most potential to have an impact on the health and safety of workers in the Australian Coal Industry and mining communities. To assist it reach this objective, the Trust assesses all potential projects against two broad criteria. That being how attractive the project is to the coal industry in respect to feasibility of the project and its proposed ability to provide tangible outcomes in partnership with the industry.

The Trust accepts applications in confidence, and does not make the details of application public. However, it does list the applications that successfully obtain grants on the Coal Services Health and Safety Trust website.
